iPhone augmented reality

Augmented reality (AR) is a term for a live direct or indirect view of a physical real-world environment whose elements are augmented by virtual computer-generated imagery. Those elements can be visualized through a mobile device. Since 2009, thanks to the improvement of the technologies, augmented reality is increasingly reaching the public thanks to a great number of applications for mobile phones and, in particular, for iPhone.

Gran Paradiso Augmented Reality is an iPhone application allowing visitors who are walking through the itineraries suggested by Géoguide Grand Paradis to identify some peculiar elements of Aosta Valley landscape. You only have to focus your mobile display on a village or mountain and the toponym of the selected point will come up on the screen. By clicking on the icon you will therefore access to a file containing the picture and the description of the selected point.
